Lifeline Central Victoria & Mallee received two generous donations this week.
The staff of AFS Chartered Accountants in Bendigo chose Lifeline Central Victoria and Mallee to be the beneficiary of a series fundraising activities including casual clothes days, raffles and chocolate sales. This donation of $500 dollars would answer 50 calls from local community members in crisis, some of whom may have current thoughts of suicide so this is a life-saving donation. $500 could provide training materials for 10 participants in a Livingworks ASIST suicide intervention workshop giving people the skills to intervene when someone is suicidal. Once again a contribution that can directly save lives.
We also received a donation of $3000 from The Angel Fund who have been supporters of our centre for many years. In thanking Lifeline Central Victoria & Mallee volunteers, Nada Smark from The Angel Fund said “It gives us much joy to be able to contribute to the heart-centered and valuable work that you all do making a difference to the health, wellbeing and resilience of so many people in need of healing and love.” Nada went on to observe that the work of our volunteers makes a “difference to the health, wellbeing and resilience of so many people in need of healing and love.”
Thank you to the staff of AFS and to Tony, Nada and Ayesha from the Angel Fund for these very generous donations
